If the average man on the street was asked where Estonia is, what history it contained and if he would consider visiting, I'm sure the responses would be I don't know and probably not.
When I saw Estonia listed on our Baltic travel agenda, I asked myself those questions and echoed the same responses. But my curiosity was piqued and I started to research the country. My findings put Estonia on the list of countries I wanted to experience.

How you grip the club has a huge affect on the golf shots you hit.  But dont let anyone tell you that there is one golf grip that everyone should use, because that is simply not true.  Youve just got to look at professional golfers to see this.  For example, Ben Hogan used a weak grip to help combat a hook problem.  Nick Faldo uses a neutral grip.  Then John Daly uses a strong golf grip.
Now youve probably heard that the weakness/strength of your golf grip is related to where the Vs of your hands are pointing.  But Ive got a much better way to check your grip and find out what works best for you.
First of all, get a semi permanent felt tip pin and draw circles about 1 cm above your top hands knuckles.  So for a right handed golfer you would do this on your left hand. For a left handed golfer you would do this on your right hand.
Now simply practice taking your grip and see what your grip feels like when you can see 1 knuckle, then 2 knuckles, then 3 knuckles on your top hand.  Also do this exercise with your feet together.   By doing this you’ll always have a reference position that you can easily repeat.
By the way, a 1 knuckle grip is considered a weak golf grip, a 2 knuckle grip is considered a neutral golf grip, and a 3 knuckle grip is considered a strong golf grip.
After youve setup with each grip then hit balls with each of these golf grips. Incidentally when placing your bottom hand on the grip simply let it go along with what the top hand is doing. And do this so that the groove in the middle of your bottom hand fits snugly into your top hands thumb.
Now I want to offer some advice about the grip that will help you if you struggle in hitting one particular shot, i.e. a slice or hook. If you slice the ball a lot you should tend towards a stronger golf grip, e.g. 3 to 4 knuckles showing on the top hand. And conversely if you hook the ball a lot you should move towards a weaker grip, e.g. 1-2 knuckles showing.
But the bottom line is to experiment.
Once youve got a good golf grip that works well for you always check it regularly to make sure youre doing the same thing. Because over time your golf grip can easily become stronger or weaker without you noticing. Also one final thought. Have a system of setting up so you check your golf grip strength as part of your pre-shot routine. Doing this will help to create greater consistency in your game on an ongoing basis.

The golf club of today, is not your Daddys golf club! In days past you had your choice of 5-6 major brand names, you did not have a lot of choice about how your clubs were made, how they were fitted, what materials were used, etc.
Wow has that changed! Today the number of major club making manufacturers has exploded, you can buy custom made clubs, you can buy brand name mass produced clubs fitted exactly to your swing, you can buy clones or knockoffs of those mass produced brands, you can buy build it yourself components that will match the specifications and quality of any thing offered by the major manufacturers.
One of the biggest changes has been in , first they are almost all made of metal or composite material today, why they are still called is anybodys guess. Just 20 years ago traditional wood drivers of about 200CCs volume were still in most golf bags, todays high performance driver pushes 460CCs in volume, is made of titanium or a blend of titanium and some exotic composite material, a graphite shaft, adjustable or changeable weight plugs that are purported to influence ball flight patterns and cost upwards of $700.00 for a major brand name. And of course golfers being the ego maniacs that we are have to have the best, most high tech driver in the bag. Fairway woods (also metal) have not grown as much in size, however there are different face heights, weight plug options, and many shaft and grip choices.
Irons are now oversized, mid-sized, cavity backed cast, forged, milled, offset, sling backed, and this is just part of the verbiage. The array of shafts available is staggering, the range of prices for shafts is amazing. A major brand name full set of irons priced at $1,100 or more is not unusual.
Lets not overlook putters, the traditional blade putter could be hard to find. Check the names of these putters, SRT 2-Ball Putter, Tri-Ball SRT Putter, Studio Style Putter, 2 Bar Putter, some of the styles available look as if they came from another planet. The site I found these putters on listed 138 brand name putters, ranging in price from $19.99 to $299.00, the vast majority of them were around $130.00.
Send in the clonesalong with the explosion of major brand name manufacturers, there has also been an explosion of companies who either manufacture or import of clubs that have the same or very similar specifications and features of some of the more familiar brand names, some of them even copy the cosmetic features. Another way to perform the same experiment is to have a custom club maker build you a club that mimics the brand name you are after, or of course you can buy the components and tools and build-it-yourself.
When you are finished with your evaluation you can take out a second on the house, sell the clone or custom club to one of your golf partners and buy that coveted major brand name club. Then go out and take some lessons, because no matter what the advertising or the salesperson promised, that new club will not, by itself, make you hit it like Tiger!
So where are you going to buy your new clubs? As little as 20 years ago the only place to find the major brand names and the expertise to properly fit a club to your swing was a golf course pro shop. Today your choices are almost endless. There are any number of “big Box” golf superstores, with complete on hand stocks of anything you could want, many of which also have websites. There are major web only retailers, mort have some type of fitting chart that will get you close to the ideal club. The Internet has also made it east for a small custom club maker to put his wares on the web, and this is where in many cases you will find the most expertise, just do a search for “custom golf clubmakers”. Then there are the clone and knockoff companies, and some of these products are fantastic values, search for “clone golf clubs”.
Wherever, and whatever you buy…Enjoy your new clubs. And then when you are on the first tee or the driving range and the guy next to you or ahead of you is hitting 300 yard drives with an old wood headed club, you can wonder why.

If you have the ability to work with a golf instructor this is going to be the best way since they can be much more honest with you about the flaws in your stance than you will be with yourself.
Once you have corrected your stance, you should rectify problems with your grip. You could end up with a poor backhand right from the start if you overextend your grip or hold the club the wrong way. There is no way possible to have a correct driver golf swing if you do not grip the club appropriately. Remember that it is impossible. It would only result in more frustration from numerous attempts. A little alteration in the hand position could provide unprecedented results in the outcome.
Before the club leaves the ground, just pull it away from the ball. This is yet another step towards improving your driver golf swing. Players make the mistake of pulling and lifting the club nearly at the same moment. Not only does it jeopardize the game but it results in an off-center hit also. When you pull the club before lifting it, you could notice great improvements in the game instantly. This is definitely not very difficult task to be accomplished. England’s Peter Mitchell withstood a strong challenge from Sam Torrance to win his second European Seniors Tour title of the season at the Scottish Seniors Open over the East course of the Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel Country Club near Edinburgh.
Mitchell, who won his maiden Seniors Tour title at the Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open earlier this summer, started the day two shots in front of Torrance but found himself one behind the former Ryder Cup captain at the turn before carding three birdies over the next four holes to regain a lead he was never to relinquish.
In the end, a three-time European Tour winner from Kent, who carded 12 birdies over his closing 36 holes, posted a nine-under-par 54-hole aggregate of 207, two shots ahead of Torrance and three in front of first-round leader Des Smyth who slipped to a closing 71.
The win was Mitchell’s second in his first eight starts on the over-50s pro circuit and the €42,931 (£33,750) first place cheque took his earnings to the season to €185,082 (£145,500).
It also moved him up from seventh to fifth on the Order of Merit behind Ian Woosnam, Bernhard Langer, Gordon J. Brand and Juan Quiros.
“It was tough out there today,” said Mitchell. “I started pretty scrappily and then, when Sam got in front, I really had to battle to get back at him.
“The last seven holes were pretty hard work,” he added. “But I hung in there and am delighted to win again. The great thing for me is that I putted a lot better today and that’s probably the key to the win.”
Torrance arrived at Dalmahoy not having won since the Bendinat London Seniors Masters last June but equalled Mitchell’s closing 69 to produce his best performance of the season to date.
“I’m disappointed, of course I am,” he said, before departing for St Andrews where he is scheduled to play alongside son, Daniel, in this week’s Dunhill Links Championship.
“But the good news is that I played better so I’m looking forward to showing the youngsters on the regular Tour a thing or two.”
Earlier in the day, England’s Tommy Horton brought his illustrious European Seniors Tour to an impressive close when he carded a one under par 71 to finish the championship in a share of 19th place on three over par 219.
Horton, now 67, has won a record 23 titles and well over €1.5 million (£1 million) since turning 50 back in 1991 but has decided to call it a day while he remains competitive.
“It has been a tough decision but I’m sure it’s the correct one,” said the former Ryder Cup player from Jersey who has claimed 107 top-ten finishes in 240 starts on the Seniors Tour and won the Tour’s Order of Merit title on a record five occasions.
“I started to think about it a couple of years ago when I had a bout of ill-health and now it feels as if the time is about right.
“I still plan to play my home event in Jersey but for the rest of the time I’ll sit back and watch the younger guys battling it out.
“It’s been great fun,” he added. “I’m just grateful to have got a second bite of the cherry (after his European Tour career)."
Carl Mason, the Seniors Tour Order of Merit winner in 2003, ’04 and ’07, led the tributes to Horton.
“I think it would be fair to say that we will all miss Tommy,” said the Englishman whose 20 victories put him second behind Horton in the tally of all-time Seniors Tour wins. “He’s been a fantastic player and a great supporter of this Tour.
“It’s going to be strange to be out here without him.”
Andy Stubbs, Managing Director of the European Tour, also paid tribute to Horton for what he has done for the Tour. “Tommy is our most prolific winner, but on another level, he has also made a huge contribution behind the scenes, both as one of the Tour’s pioneers and as a former Chairman of the Players’ Committee.
“It would be no exaggeration to say that he has played a vital role in our development over the years.”

Seniors aiming for international clean sweep 
• HAVING captured the European Seniors at Shannon and the Boys Home International at Royal County Down in August before enjoying triple crown success in the mens equivalent at Muirfield last week, Ireland will bid for a clean sweep of Home International titles when the seniors tee up at Tenby Golf Club, Wales, from September 30th to October 2nd.
The six players that captured the European Seniors Team Championship at Shannon are joined by international newcomer Michael Coote from Castleisland, who finished second in the Seniors Order of Merit aided by fourth-place finishes in both the Ulster and Munster Seniors Championships.

This course of study is not difficult to find throughout the states either online or on-campus. Many aspiring students who pursue the M.S. and PhD. now have the option to pursue degrees in psychology online for an accredited certification that can be approved for a license. These graduate and postgraduate students may continue working in their present jobs while pursuing upper level grad classes. The acceptance requirements are generally the same at most institutions, including competent scores on the GRE, approved GPA, approved transcript and an interview. If someone is interested in the field of psychology at whatever level of achievement, a degree in psychology can be the beginning of a rewarding career that can provide personal satisfaction for those who especially enjoy working with people in areas of human service. This weekend Hazel and I got a chance to work with our friends, JP and Owen, from John Lauren Photography. We needed to take photos for a special Red 5 Studios project (which we will reveal later) and this time we we would be the ones in front of the camera! On Saturday, we wanted to take some photos in front of a movie theater, so we checked out some local independent theaters. The Harkins Theater (famous for their popcorn seasonings) was very busy, of course, so we moved on. We went to Krikorian Theater (one of the first in the area to have stadium seating) and, to our surprise, found out that it was closed for remodeling! We had the whole place to ourselves! Let me say that it was strange to be on the other side of the lens (we havent been in this situation since our engagement photos 12 years ago)! But we had a great time and it was very cool to be shooting in front of this abandoned movie theater. On Sunday, we needed some type of production shot so we recreated a set in JP and Owens garage. The photo turned out exactly how I pictured it! You cant tell, but Im as sick as a dog when we took that shot. Thanks, JP and Owen, for all your hard work (you guys are so talented and are gonna be big in the business very soon). PF Changs and Red Velvet Cake from CPK was so good! create lag in the golf swing is what I call the gun grip full swing drill. Pick a target and address the golf ball as you normally would. Now for a right handed golfer, take your thumb and index finger of your right hand off of the golf club. Making your thumb and index finger to look like a gun or a pistol will return the best results. Do not get lazy and let these two fingers start to curl back around the grip of the golf club. This will defeat the purpose.

This will feel out of control at first but it has helped many of my students. Pay attention to the golf club at the top of the swing. It should feel like it is dropping and not moving forward. With this you will create lag in your full swing.
