I know the popular wisdom concerning Omaha 8b fixed limit is that it is - for the studious, capable player - a steady earner and doesnt have the swings and roundabouts of holdem that seem to entail the rake taking a larger chunk out of your earnings that one might like. (takes breath).
What is the popular wisdom concerning the pot limit variety in this regard?
Also - since most if not all literature concerning Omaha 8b pertains to fixed limit - what modifications do I need to make to my: a) starting hand selections and b) card play post flop when playing pot limit. If anybody could recommend a good site that deals with this matter, I would be very grateful.

well im no expert at omaha 8b Pot limit, but I have played PLO - (high) and NL hold em. Ive seen in pokerstars that they do spread PL O 8/b and also NL O 8/b. Ive never delved into these games but have played many hours of LIMIT Omaho 8/b.
I think the correct assumption in playing Pot limit split pot games is that you should have a good two way hand (HI and LOW). A good high hand only and a good low hand only lose value in pot limit, because you dont know if youll be splitting the pot or if youll get quartered. It seems that only the nut low and nut high hands will be betting the pot frequently, which could put you in a diffficult situation if you are sitting on the 2nd nut low or 2nd nut high on the flop or turn with no other draws to the nuts. In addition, the river card could change everything, so I assume that this game of PL Omaho 8/b could be truly volatile.
edit: i think the principle from limit omaha 8/b that you need hands that the pots remains a key aspect. So again its important to play those hands that could easily have the nut hi and low handsI think I read that the best starting hand in omaha 8/b is A-A-2-3 double suited. this is an interesting question (for me anyway). Thanks.
as for websites, i would probably go to the www.twoplustwo.com forums and theyl have lots of advice for yagood luck at the tables.
